Travelling to School
Travelling to School
At St Luke’s CE Primary School, we encourage families to support pupils in walking, cycling, or using public transport whenever possible. Choosing active or sustainable travel helps reduce congestion around the school, making drop‑off and pick‑up times safer and smoother for everyone. We offer bike parking behind the school for pupils who wish to cycle, and a convenient cycle path runs between St Catherine’s and St Luke’s, making cycling an easy and enjoyable option. In addition, well‑connected footpaths provide safe routes from both the Braithwaite Road Estate and the Tarnway/Ridgeway Estate, helping children access school confidently and independently. Walking or cycling gives pupils a healthy, energising start to the day, and using sustainable travel helps lower our community’s carbon footprint—supporting a cleaner, safer environment for all of Lowton.
The 610 travels between Leigh and Wigan, travelling through Lowton and Ashton-in-Makerfield and stops on Church Lane outside school. Follow this this link to plan your journey: Bus timetables | Bee Network | Powered by TfGM
