Eco Warriors
At St Luke's we are proud to have a fantastic Eco Warriors team. We have two representatives from each class who meet with Mrs Richardson half termly to discuss how well our Eco team are doing at school. The children come up with some really good ideas and this gives the children the opportunity to suggest changes, alongside new ideas that can be implemented in school.
As a team we have a litter patrol, gardening club and classroom monitors. A certificate is given in Celebration assembly every Friday to the class who remembers to recycle and turn off lights and equipment the most.
We are currently working on reducing the amount of plastic we use and have a number of recycling schemes that we are taking part in.
Last year we successfully collected empty crisp packets for recycling and we recycled our milk bottle lids ensuring that they were used for projects around school.
We are very proud to be Eco Warriors.
This year our projects are going to be -
- Recycling tin foil. There is a collection box in each class and the eco warriors will empty the recycling every Friday. Tin foil from packed lunches and from the morning snack will be added to the box daily.
- Recycling biscuit wrappers. There is a box in the school hall to add your biscuit wrappers each day at lunchtime.
