Personal Development
At St Luke's, personal development is central to our vision of learning without limits. We provide a carefully planned programme of opportunities and experiences that enables pupils to develop confidence, character, resilience, independence and a strong sense of responsibilty.
Our personal development calendar shows how this provision is delivered throughout the school year. It includes sport, music, clubs, competitions, educational visits, residential experiences, collective worship, church visits, careers education, environmental work, cultural experiences and opportunities to learn about relationships, physical and mental health, online safety, equality and the wider world.
Pupils are encouraged to contribute actively to school life through leadership roles including the School Council, Eco-Warriors, Sports Crew, Mental Health Team, Worship Wonders, Class Ambassadors, hall monitors and prospective-parent tour guides. These responsibilities help children understand service, teamwork, democracy and the importance of making a positive contribution to their community.
Our year-round clubs and wider opportunities allow children to discover their talents and represent St Luke's. The quality and breadth of this work have been recognised through achievements including the Music Mark Award, School Games Platinum Award, Modeshift Stars School Travel Accreditation, Growing Faith Award and Global Neighbours Award.
Through these experiences, we aim to prepare every child for the next stage of their education and for life beyond school, helping them to become respectful, compassionate, confident and responsible members of society.
